What it is to be an Episcopalian

Whether you're visiting for the first time, exploring Christianity, or returning to the church after many years, we warmly welcome you. This page provides information about the Episcopal Church and what you can expect when you visit us.

Our Tradition

The Episcopal Church is part of the global Anglican Communion, rooted in the traditions of the ancient church while embracing the modern world. We believe in worshiping God in beautiful, reverent settings where all are welcome.

Our worship follows a liturgical format, meaning we use set prayers and scriptures that connect us to centuries of Christian tradition. At the same time, we encourage exploration, questioning, and intellectual engagement with our faith.

The Episcopal Church is known for its inclusivity and commitment to social justice. We believe that God's love is available to all people, and our parish is committed to being a welcoming community for everyone.

What to Expect in Worship

The Service Structure

Episcopal services typically include readings from Scripture, singing of hymns, prayers, and communion (the Eucharist). Don't worry if you're unfamiliar with the format—our bulletin will guide you.

Communion

We celebrate Holy Communion at every service. All baptized Christians are welcome to receive communion. If you're not yet baptized, we invite you to come forward for a blessing.

Dress Code

Feel free to wear whatever makes you comfortable. Many of our members dress nicely, but casual clothing is perfectly fine.

Questions?

Our clergy and volunteers are happy to answer any questions. Don't hesitate to ask—we're here to help you feel welcome.
